"you will be able to get the IP address of the forms user for the forms session for that user"  --> This is for Forms session. It talks about Forms session in that document.

"With Load balancer and DHCP type of IP allocation this may be difficult to trace down to 
specific machine"  --> This is applicable when you have a Load Balancer in front of your apps tier servers. So if you don't have load balancer, don't care about this.

I found the doc  879092.1 very useful. Didn't know that you have to bounce the application after setting the profile option.

can you please clarify me these points I am bit confused.
