You didnt see any issue?
Maybe it gathers some stats, so it may be doing some serious db work.
I m on a vacation, so my connection is limited. If I had connection, I would check the patch folder and see its actions..I would check the sqls that it deliver..
Anyways, check from the database and also read the worker log files, use adctrl to see the current jobs of the workers and you will understand what they are doing..
