information on old edition

Hi Erman,

I didnt get the below information about Old edition,can you please help in your way of explanation in simple terminology

Old Editions:

These editions are only used to store code objects that have not been patched in later edition.

 In addition to the run and patch editions, there may be one or more old editions inside the database.
These old editions arise from the consequences of adop’s cutover phase and are removed when you execute
adop’s cleanup phase.

These old edition gets deleted if a full cleanup (cleanup_mode=full) is performed.

I think actualize all will delete the old edition,pls correct me if i am wrong

Yes. But if you want to drop the old edition -> you should consider running the adop actualize_all phase and then performing a full cleanup.

In order to drop the editions, yhe recommended sequence of events should be as follows;

$ adop phase=prepare
$ adop phase=actualize_all
$ adop phase=finalize finalize_mode=full
$ adop phase=cutover
$ adop phase=cleanup cleanup_mode=full
