adop error

hi erman

we are getting an error while appliying adop patch .

We have two node application tier . But first node is down  . Second node is active without adminserver .

Our error is :  

Warning: WebLogic Admin Server is not running.
WebLogic Admin Server cannot be started from a non-admin node.
[STATEMENT] Please run adopscanlog utility, using the command
adop exiting with status = 3 (Fail)

Can you help us ?

When you lost the admin server, patching is not possible.
You can run EBS apps services without the admin server, but you can not patch it.

There is an internal enhancement request to build this feature: Bug 17784518 - ENH: PROVIDE A METHOD TO PROMOTE A SECONDARY NODE TO PRIMARY

As stated in Oracle Support: At this point the WLS Admin Server for EBS is only configured on the primary node, and there is NO EXISTING METHOD TO PROMOTE a slave secondary node to become the primary node.

So, maybe in the future you will be able to apply patches when the primary node is down, but for now you can't.. I suggest you to fix the problem in your primary apps nodes asap and apply your patch when it becomes up and running.
