RAC for AppsTier

Latifa
Hi Erman,

after autoconfig, my tnsnames.ora for AppsTier doesn't pick up the IP addresses of the scan, I still have server-vip for the Host Address.

Hardely, our DBA configured the RAC for DBTier, now we have IP adresses in the tnsnames.ora for both nodes instead of vip.

What's wrong ?

Regards,
Latifa

Did you check db-scan config?
remote listener parameter is set?

This is EBS. listener configuration is a little special.
check this note and make your controls accordingly -> Using Oracle 11g Release 2 Real Application Clusters and Automatic storage management with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1453213.1)

Hi Erman,

some missmatching was there in the dbTier. But in the end, one parameter was wrong in the context_file: "s_dbCluster " which was set to false. after setting it to True, it was Ok :! Ouf ...

I have just a question: If I rebuilt the context_file in the node where it wasn't working well, was there any risk on the application ? In a moment, I was looking to regenerate its Context_file (node2) as configuration of the DB scan was ok.

Latifa

some env variables are on-the-fly build by the values stored in context file but normally, a running application won't be affected by recreating a context file. The real affect will come after the autoconfig.
