R12.2 apps password

Is it required to run autoconfig after changing apps password in r12.2 and can u explain why it is necessary.

The document to be followed is -> Steps to change the APPS, APPLSYS, and APPS_NE password using FNDCPASS or AFPASSWD for EBS 12.2 (Doc ID 1674462.1)

You need to run autoconfig, because Oracle says so :)
Autoconfig updates lots of things. There are places both in apps and db tier, which will be affected by this change. Autoconfig does almost all the configurations for you. It is also integrated with the password change utilities .. So utilities (i.e FNDCPASS)change the password and autoconfig reflect this change to the necessary places in the system.
