Hi Erman,
I want to create a new database, I'm trying to invoke dbca on Linux but I'm not winning. This is what I did: export DISPLAY=(ip address of host) ./dbca But then it doesn't display anything, please assist. Thanks. |

Did you first give the xhost permission using root..
connect to OS with root execute "xhost +" command Then switch user to oracle (su - oracle) set your DISPLAY properly and run dbca. |
I tried that, it now says: xhost: unable to display "ip address"On Tue, Nov 14, 2017 at 1:35 PM, ErmanArslansOracleBlog [via Erman Arslan's Oracle Forum] <[hidden email]> wrote: Did you first give the xhost permission using root.. |

Dont set ip adress. You are connecting with vnc, right? Just set your DISPLAY without ip. For ex: export DISPLAY=:1.0 14 Kas 2017 ÖS 4:07 tarihinde "Phindile [via Erman Arslan's Oracle Forum]" <[hidden email]> yazdı:

No I'm not connecting with vnc, so do I actually need vnc to invoke dbca? On Tue, Nov 14, 2017 at 3:14 PM, ErmanArslansOracleBlog [via Erman Arslan's Oracle Forum] <[hidden email]> wrote:
